At five years old she was promised to Sri Ramakrishna, whom she joined at Dakshineswar Kali sanctuary when she was in her late youngsters. As per her biographers, both led lives of solid self control, demonstrating the goals of a householder and of the devout lifestyles. After Sri Ramakrishna's passing, Maa Sarada Devi remained more often than not either at Joyrambati or at the Udbodhan office, Calcutta.
